Confetti is an ode to curves. Grisdela challenged herself to work large, cutting curves freehand without using templates. In true improvisational style, the artist had no idea what the finished quilt was going to look like, beyond having four quadrants that create a bullseye effect. Some of the curves are broken up with inset spines so there could bemore colors. The confetti squares in the corners, inspired by an oversized confetti canister from a stage play, add unique energy to the final composition. Design pieced improvisationally from cotton fabric. Freehand quilted on a home sewing machine using a variety of motifs. Variegated cotton thread used in quilting. Hanging sleeve and rod included. Easily hangs from two small nails in the wall. Avoid direct sunlight. Use a lint roller for light cleaning.
